To express gratitude for the hard work of teachers, Buddha's Light Hsi Lai School (BLHLS) hosted a year-end teachers' gathering and tea party on Jan 20, 2024 at the Meditation Hall of the Hsi Lai Center for the 2023-2024 academic year. Over 20 Chinese, English, math, and talent teachers and volunteers were invited to join an appreciation tea party in their honor. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, it had been four long years since the teachers had the opportunity to come together and celebrate.
Principal Ven. Hui Dong expressed appreciation for the daily efforts and contributions of the teachers in nurturing talents. He emphasized the importance of teaching by example, following the principles of "Three Acts of Goodness and Four Gives." The principal extended blessings for the teachers' well-being, health, and smooth endeavors. Students from the Buddha's Light Children's Choir performed the song "The Kid Lighting up the Lamp," expressing gratitude for the teachers' dedicated teachings and wishing for a peaceful and harmonious atmosphere guided by the Buddha.
The event showcased a lavish buffet, receiving accolades from the teachers. Tea ceremony apprentice Zhang Jiajun showcased his learning by serving piping hot tea to each teacher. As the tea masters observed their students confidently taking the lead, they felt joy and moved. They eagerly took photos with them, offering praise and encouragement. In the cozy ambiance, the event concluded with an entertaining highlight – a raffle activity.
