With rapid technology in teaching, many courses and homework are taught and completed online. In order to provide students with the best learning environment, Venerable Hui Dong, principal of Buddha’s Light Hsi Lai School, upheld the spirit of Venerable Master Hsing Yun and worked with Hsi Lai Temple—over the past 8 years—to establish a new home for Buddha’s Light Hsi Lai School. On January 4th, classes officially started at the new Hsi Lai Center.
Prior to opening, December 28 through the 30, 2021 volunteers were trained, Chinese, English, and Math teachers met, and parents were welcomed and briefed online. Various aspects were shared, including a tour, operational and maintenance procedures, and drop-off and pick-up of the students. The chief executive, Venerable Man Zhao, thanked everyone for taking the time to attend the meeting, and expressed Venerable Master Hsing Yun’s commitment to providing the teachers and students with the best learning conditions. Also, well-wishes were shared that everyone would jointly maintain and joyously embrace the new environment.
Because of everyone’s full support, on the morning of January 4th, 2022, the Principal of Buddha Light’s Hsi Lai School, Venerable Hui Dong and the superintendent of Hsi Lai Temple, Venerable Yi Shan, oversaw the first day of school. As the children saw the colorful classrooms and the huge indoor basketball court, their excitement could not be contained. During recess, they ran up and down the basketball court with delight and laughter. After school dismissal, numerous parents expressed their deep gratitude for all the excellent programs offered to their children. From the pandemic prevention process to the safety of pick-up and drop-off, every detail demonstrated the school's dedication to their students!
